Unlearning has to happen before we learn and re-learn : Mr Lobsang Phuntsok

“ICFAI conducts leadership conversations on the topic “Transformative Learning: Integrating Heart, Mind and Body”

“Unlearning has to happen and to be practiced by everyone of us before we learn and re-learn” stated Mr Lobsang Phuntsak, Founder & Director, Jhamtse Gatsal Children’s Community at the 60th WiseViews Leadership Conversations series conducted by ICFAI on June 17, 2022. Mr Lobsang Phuntsak delivered a talk on “Transformative Learning: Integrating Heart, Mind and Body”.

Mr. Lobsang explained the importance of the cohesive learning and working as teams just like the organs or our body that are controlled by our mind. Mr. Lobsang emphasized that “Leaders should take the initiative to take care of the well-being and happiness of his colleagues to get the maximum output. If a Doer is not taken care of and is unhappy; he will work without enthusiasm and it finally results in the poor output which is neither beneficial for the individual nor to the organization”, he added.

Mr. Lobsang further said that “Heart, mind and the body are the three most important and precious tools embedded in all of us and we need to know how to use them to the maximum potential. Each and every sensory organs like the eyes and the ears aid us to learn and move forward” he said.

Mr. Lobsang also stressed that we should try and be compassionate in everything we do. Leaders should step in to train or help their followers or employees to get  acquainted to practice compassion in inconvenient and difficult situations.

Answering to a query in the Q & A session, Mr. Lobsang stated “ we the human beings need to get rid of the mental rigidity focused on the money and should be adaptive to see the bigger picture. We cannot build the future generation without overcoming this mindset”.

The conversation was moderated by Prof. R Prasad, Director – Academic Wing, ICFAI Group and Prof. Sudhakar Rao, Director – Branding, ICFAI Group.

About 250 participants including researchers, faculty, working professionals, and students attended the webinar which was also live streamed on the facebook.
