LIC stages protest against Midi’s privatisation bid

RBI asks banks to accept coins of all denominations from public

The South Central Council of All India LIC Employees Federation today observed ” Save LIC Day” In Telugu states during lunch hours  in protest against the privatisation bid by the Centre. 

The president P Mahesh and General Secretary V Raghunathan have opposed the privatisation bid by Narendra Modi Government.  They demanded that Modi should withdraw his plan to LIC divestment. 

The divestment plan is against the slogan of Modi’s Aatma Nirmar Bharat which is not good for LIC health.  The banking employees unions extend support to save LIC Day and to protect it from privatisation they said.

They said that LIC is Kalpavruksha and Kamadhenu for policy holders and people for better living. They urged the Centre nit to divest and privatise the major insurance corporations in the country noted for genuine and timely services and disbursal of cash to beneficiaries.  With banking unions will intensify protests if the centre failed to cancel privatisation bid, they said.
