TS body directs social welfare teachers to speak in English only

At a time when the Telangana government was making efforts to introduce Telugu as a compulsory language in the entire schooling system in the state, the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society’s Regional Coordinator seems to be going the other way.

The Regional Coordinator recently issued a memorandum to all the teaching staff in all the 28 social welfare schools and instructed them to communicate in English only on school campuses.

In the memo, the Regional Coordinator also informed that one day’s salary will ve deducted from their salary if the regular and contract teachers along with the principals, senior and junior vice principals fail to speak in English.
