TITA pay tributes to PV

Vice President pays tributes to former PM,  Narasimha Rao on his birth anniversary

Members of the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) paid tributes to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao at PV Ghat in Hyderabad as part of his birth centenary celebrations.

Rao, Telangana’s son and India’s pride, is vastly reverred for the economic reforms he launched in the early 90s. He initiated the efforts for setting up the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), which is responsible for the spread of IT across the country.

Speaking after paying tributes to the late Prime Minister, TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala said it was during PV Narasimha Rao’ tenure that the seeds for the IT revolution was laid. He was the one who set up the STPIs but has always maintained a low profile and let the results be seen. The ten year tax holiday extended to STPI units has helped STPIs to attract bug names to set up operations in Hyderabad as well as other parts of the country.

From a humble beginning in the early 90s, the IT sector in the city has grown from strength to strength and now the IT exports from Telangana are pegged at Rs 1.29 lakh crore and an employment to about 5.86 lakh directly and another four fold indirectly. The software fraternity will forever be indebted to the visionary for his reforms, he said adding that STPIs have been setup across the country and that heralded the IT era.

Makthala apart TITA members Rana Pratap, Pradeep Nilagiri, Ashwin Chinthala and other paid tributes in PV Gyan Bhoomi.

Makthala said his family was cordial relations with PV’s family. The TITA president said that his grandfather Makthala Agaiah had worked with PV in several agitations during Hyderabad Liberation movement. The family members closely worked with PV’s son and former MP Late PV Rajeshwara Rao.
