Health Minister E Rajender today said that there will be no lockdown extension in Telangana despite rise in positive cases in five districts. He announced the prices for Corona and other tests in private labs and hospitals which cannot violate guidelines.
Talking to press persons here Rajender said that the government fixed rates as Rs 2,200 to conduct a single coronavirus test at private laboratories, Corporate hospitals have to charge Rs 4,000 per day for isolation facilities from mild Covid-19 positive patients, Rs. 7, 500 per day from positive patients who need Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facilities but not ventilator support and Rs. 9,000 per day from critical Covid-19 positive patients who need both ICU and ventilator support.
The people who can afford can take Corona tests in private labs and hospitals, the minister said.
The government follows ICMR guidelines and has taken a decision to conduct more tests in five districts showing rise in cases and no tests will be conducted for those without symptoms.
The minister stated that there is no idea of extending the lockdown and not to bring Corona tests under Aarogyasri scheme. ICMR has stated that there is no community transfer of the virus in Telangana he claimed.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken a decision not to extend the lockdown and set up a Committee to monitor to contain the virus spread. We have allowed private labs and hospitals to conduct Corona tests which shall not violate guidelines.
The government offers free tests and those who can afford are free to visit the private labs and hospitals. Tests were increased to give confidence to people and 650 persons are in home quarantine.
KCR decided to conduct 50000 tests in 30 Assembly segments in five districts where Corona rising are — Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Vikarabad and Sanga Reddy.
