Congress wants central govt to aid MSME sector

Former Minister and  Congress party MLA D. Sridhar Babu today demanded state and Central governments to come to the rescue of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME ) sector of the state. He alleged that the central government did not respond on the letter written by the party president Sonia Gandhi on the issue of the MSME sector.

Addressing media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, he said that the MSME industries were sustaining losses of ₹30,000 crore every day due to the ongoing lockdown. He said that the industries would contribute 35 percent of income to the national GDP. He demanded central government to announced ₹1 lakh crore credit guarantee to the sector. He said that their party leader Sonia Gandhi had urged the Center to help the sector through banks. He alleged that although ruling BJP leaders are demanding stimulation package for the MSME sector the central ministers were not talking about the issue. Targeting state industries minister KTR, he said that the state minister was also not raising the issue of the MSME sector.

He alleged that the state government, although promised to write letters to the central government on the issue, failed to do so till now. He asked union finance ministry officials as to why they were sitting on the stimulation package report prepared  by union minister Nitin Gadkari for the last 45 days.
