Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami today reacted on the issue of vandalism of idols of Hindu God Sri Ram in the state. He expressed his anguish on the issue and said that there was no protection to the temples in the state. . He said that nobody knew as to what happen in the state.
He made these remarks while addressing media persons at Vijaya Keeladri of Tadepally. He said that he would visit all the temples which has come under attack after the Dhanurmasam. He also said that he would take up a state wide Yatra from January 17 of this month but added that he had not yet decided the place to launch his Yatra . He said that he would soon take a decision on the issue.
He made it clear that his Yatra would be confined to AP state only. Swami said that he would also gather the opinions of the people for the proper organisation of temples system in the state. Citing that all the temples are being attacked in the state , he said that they would ponder over the issue of protecting them. Citing that there are no CC cameras in any of the temples of the state, he said that the CC cameras were also installed in the Ramatheertham temple after the attack on it.
The swami said that all should respond if similar attacks took place on churches and mosques of the state .claiming that there would have been a huge hue and cry had there been any attacks on the churches and mosques of the state, he said that those who depend on the temples would generally remain calm. He said that he had information that around 50 attacks had taken place in the state so far and added that there was a need to instil confidence among those who are in fears after the attacks on the temples .
Stressing that the religious issues should not be linked with politics, he advised the state government to constitute a committee on the issue. Meanwhile the chairman of TTD YV Subba Reddy had met with Swami minutes before his press conference.
