Chilkur Balaji Temple priest,  CS Rangarajan today said in a statement that it is very heartening to hear the statement of the MIM leader from Karimnagar Ghulam Ahmed Hussain asking Muslims not to sacrifice cows on Bakrid.

From Chilkur we whole heartedly welcome this statement and request the Muslim Clerics and Religious heads to make similar announcements.

Every year many such announcements need to be made ahead of Bakrid since lakhs of cows and calves are sacrificed on a single day leading to great heartburn among Hindus and increased friction among the communities.

Such statements will lead to establishing a strong bondage of harmony between the Religions.

Ahead of Bakrid festival, AIMIM leader and Karimnagar town president Gulam Ahmed Hussain had requested the Muslim community to not to sacrifice cows during the month of Bakrid and on the festival say.

For the sake of national integrity, government has prohibited cow sacrifices, and we need to respect government acts and rules, Hussain had said. He had said that as per Islam, no programme should hurt other people in the society. This was widely covered in the Print media.

“Prophet Muhammad had also said the same. Every individual Muslim represents the religion’s tradition and culture, so do not go against Islam, he suggested the community. In view of spread of Covid- 19, Muslims should take precautionary measures. If anyone violates government rules, they will face action as per Disaster Management Act, 1897,” town president had said.

The leader also had requested the District Collector and the Commissioner of Police to take precautionary measures to stop sale of cows at cattle markets. He called upon Muslim community to celebrate Bakrid while adhering to physical distancing. His statement has been welcomed by CHILKUR BALAJI TEMPLE and  several Hindu religious groups.

It is further appreciable that the Karimnagar District Administration led by the Collector K Shashanka and Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy are taking sufficient efforts to stop illegal transport of cattle.
