Why Gavaskar didn’t attend Imran’s swearing in ceremony?

Gavaskar, Imran’s swearin

This is the question that is uppermost on the minds of people. Sunil Gavaskar, who has had a good relationship with Imran Khan decided against going in for the ceremony. Many feel Gavaskar’s decision reflects his batting and that is playing it safe.

Not wanting to ruffle feathers is what Gavaskar does best and this is ample proof. He also mentioned soon after receiving the invitation that he would first take the Indian government’s permission. The government did not have any problems in allowing NS Sidhu to attend and they would not have refused the ‘Little Master’ but then playing safe than being sorry is his forte. Leaving the ball alone and getting to the hundred is better he felt all his life, than go for the kill and win matches.

Does it matter if he had attended? Who knows, what politics could not, cricket may do, and that is mend fences with the neighbour. In the meanwhile, Sidhu hugging Pakistan Army Chief and sitting beside PoK President during Imran’s swearing-in as PM is creating ripples in India and the BJP has slammed Sidhu, stating that the act is no less than a crime, said BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra.

He further added, Hugging General Najwa is a bigger crime. General is known for the fact that his intervention has caused multiple deaths of innocents in India.

In the meanwhile, Gavaskar is deeply engrossed in commentating on the ongoing India-England series and playing it safe in the commentary box with his repeated sermons on how to leave the ball alone.
