Veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar is no more

Eminent journalist, Former Britain High Commissioner KuldipNayardied at the age of 95. He took his last breath at 12.30 on Wednesday night. He was suffering from some health problems who had been admitted to a private hospital in Delhi. He is survived by his wife and two sons. His elder son SudhirNayarsaid that Nayar’s last rites would be held at Lodhi crematorium in the city. KuldipNayarwho was born at Sialkot in Pakistan on 14 August 1923, rendered his services as an author, senior journalist. He wrote many popular books like ‘Beyond the lines’,‘India after Nehru’ etc. He worked as human right activist. He served as High Commissioner of India to the U.K in 1990 and was also nominated to the RajyaSabha in 1997. Prime minister Narendra Modi condoled his death. Modi tweeted “KuladeepNayar was an intellectual giant in our times. Frank, fearless in his views, his work spanned across many decades”.
