Yellow-collared Wolf Snake

A rare snake, Yellow-collared Wolf Snake, was sighted in Nallamala forest area in Kurnool district. It is scientifically called as Lycodon flavicollis which is in dark brown colour with thick yellow collar extending to the lower part of the head also.

“The snake was never seen in Srisailam reserve forest or Nagarjuna Sagar area,” said the Biolab range officer A.Prema. She said the snake was rescued from Sunnipenta area with the information given by the local people. There are five types of snakes in this snake species.
