Lalu surrendered in the court

Bihar Former Chief Minister, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav surrendered before the court on Thursday. He has been on provisional bail since the month of May this year. The Court refused to extend the period of Prasad’s bail further. So he surrendered in court. He said “I will follow the orders of the Court. My health is not nice but I have faith in the High Court’s verdict”. It is known that he was sentenced to imprisonment in the fodder scam case.

70 years old Lalu requested the Jharkhand High Court to extend the bail for three months as he was taking treatment in hospital. The Court refused to extend the bail. The court ordered him to surrender by August 30. The Court asked the government to provide the required medical assistance for him in jail itself. C.B.I opposed the extension of the bail during the enquiry, saying that he has already spent considerable time in the hospital for treatment of various ailments. Jharkhand High Court gave six weeks provisional bail to him for medical treatment in May. He was restrained by Court from taking part in any public function, political activity or issuing statements to the media during the period.
