TRS leader and former MP, Kalvakuntla Kavitha today took oath as an MLC at Darbar Hall of Legislative Council here in Hyderabad. She took oath in Telugu as the Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy has administered her oath of office. Ministers, V Prashanth Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, MLAs, MLCs, Assembly Secretary Dr V Narsimha, Charyulu and others attended. Kavitha won the MLC poll with huge majority under local bodies’ constituency from Nizamabad. She defeated Congress and the BJP candidates who lost deposits in the polls.Later the officials have handed over a kit bag comprising rule books of the legislative Council. Kavitha had registered a huge victory by getting 672 votes majority of the time. She got 728 votes out of 823 in the polls and defeated her rivals. With this she is back to active politics after losing her MP seat to BJP’s Dharmapuri Arvind. It is being said that Kavitha may be inducted into the KCR cabinet with a key portfolio.
