Uppal Junction is one of the busiest junction with Bus terminals around the junction with buses going towards Ghatkesar, Ramanthapur, Secunderabad, etc. and the Pedestrians crossing the road to reach their bus stops are facing difficulties.
The junction is neighbouring schools, business area, residential, Sport Stadium and also the Metro Station.
HMDA has taken up Skywalk which is the first such project in Telangana. The Skywalk is connecting six (6) locations around the Junction and also connecting the Metro Station on course level on either side.
The Skywalk is provided with Six(6) Hop Stations with staircases and elevators for the public facility.
The Skywalk is of 3m, 4m and 6m with a length of 660m designed with aesthetically and functionally.
The structure is constructed with Mild Steel Sub-structure and Deck provided with railing and fabric roofing at strategic locations.
The facility provided will ease the pedestrian difficulties in reaching their places across the junction safely and peacefully.
The project is completed with a cost of Rs.25.00 crores.
The work is completed in all aspects and proposed to inaugurated by Sri K.T Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister for MA & UD on 26-06-2023.
