Governor, CM, leaders pay floral tributes to Gandhi to mark death anniversary

Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar today paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi to mark his 73rd death anniversary at Bapu Ghat near Langar House in the city here. They reached the site this morning and offered rich tributes to the Father of the nation. 
To mark the occasion of Gandhi death anniversary the government conducted prayers of all religions.  They recalled the services of Mahatma Gandhi at Babu Ghar.
Governor paid rich tributes to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, who successfully adopted the paths of non-violence, and satyagraha, to achieve independence to our country from the colonial British rulers.
The Governor, along with other dignitaries, also observed two minute of silence on the occasion.
In a separate release the Chief Minister lauded the services of Gandhi. He said that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had shown to the world a new path of movement with prayer, pleading and dissenting as the weapons. Thus Gandhi became a role model he said. 
Gandhi was ideal as he sacrificed his life for the nation besides teaching truth, peace and harmony, he added. 
Ministers, KTR, Mahamood Ali, Srinivas Yadav, MP Keshava Rao and leaders of other parties paid tributes. 
At Assembly premises, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy and leaders attended the program and paid tributes to Gandhi at his statue on the premises.
