GITAM celebrated International Yoga Day

GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad celebrated the International Yoga Day today  (one day prior to the scheduled day) with the enthusiastic participation of faculty and staff.

The celebrations on Saturday were started with floral tributes to 20 soldiers who died in a clash with Chinese forces in the disputed Himalayan region of Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.Siva Prasad.

He addressed the gathering about yoga and benefits of practicing Yoga to individual in everyday life. He shared his experience & wisdom about his Yoga practice. He, along with other participants, actively participated in the practice session.

Prof. G.A.Rama Rao, Principal, School of Science was invited on this occasion to teach Yoga with demonstrations. He enlightened the participants about scientific relevance and importance of Yoga in our life and explained how yoga practiced perpetually benefits to reduce stress at work for a healthier body and mind.

Prof. A.Sreeram, Director, Students Affairs, Dr. G.Rambabu, HoD, Chemistry Department, Dr. M.S.Surendra babu, Dr. Naresh Kumar Katari & Dr. Venkata Narayana, Assistant Professors, M.Narayana Rao, Physical Director, and staff also participated in the yoga practice session.
