Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao today urged the Centre to release immediately Rs 1024 cr towards MGNRES scheme. In a letter addressed to the union agriculture minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, Dayakar apprised that they have achieved targets of the scheme and awaiting funds from the Centre.
Telangana stands first in the country with 97.37 percent of works completed under the scheme.
We completed 13.37 cr working days out of a target of 13.75 working days in 12770 villages of 540 mandals and 32 districts, the minister informed.
The state government has been successfully implementing this scheme and providing employment to the workers in the state by offering regular work. Out of Rs 1719 cr the Centre has so far released Rs 6000 cr and the rest of Rs 10000 cr are yet to be released immediately the minister urged.
The youngest state is in forefront in offering help to the poor and farmers through several welfare programs he said.
