Eco-friendly clay Ganeshas increase in Hyderabad

Eco-friendly clay Ganesha

The demand for Eco-friendly clay Ganeshas is increasing year after year in Hyderabad. The Vinayaka Chavithi festivities are set to begin with an increased emphasis on worshipping environment-friendly clay Ganesh idols. The festival would be celebrated on a massive scale in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the Telangana State with thousands of idols installed in residential colonies and apartments.

Nature-friendly clay Ganesha Idols are to be distributed by the state government. The GHMC also planned to establish distribution centres for clay Ganeshas as an eco-friendly initiative. A large number of citizens in the city have been using clay idols for the last three years.

Citizens, residential welfare associations, colony associations and NGOs are likely to continue with the same during the current year also in order to curb pollution and make Hyderabad a pollution-free city.   The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) decided to distribute thousands of clay Ganesh idols (small size) on subsidized rates this year.
