DRDO Chief inaugurated VEMs facility

The Secretary of Department of Defence R & D and the Chairman of DRDO Dr. G.Satheesh Reddy today inaugurated the Advanced Systems Division – RF Seekers Manufacturing Facility of VEM technologies private limited at Ravirala on the outskirts  of the city.

            Speaking on the occasion he conveyed his  best wishes to the VEM team.  The Principal  Secretary of the Industries  and Commerce (I&C) and Information  Technology (IT) Departments of  State  government Jayesh Ranjan also graced the event. 

The founder chairman and Managing Director of the company V. Venkata Raju said that they had set up the company with an aim to make VEM as a  Systems Engineering Company offering solutions to the Armed Services making the country  self-reliant. 

“VEM built the Advanced Systems Division – Seeker Manufacturing facility with the soft financial assistance from Technology Development Board – DST, GOI for the “ Development & Commercialization of RF Seekers”. The ASD is a state of the art infrastructure that can manufacture RF Seekers @ 2 nos/day,” he said.  He said that the facility was built to also cater to IIR Seekers for various Missile Programmes.  He said that VEM invested over Rs. 100 Crs., in building the world class infrastructure, first of its kind in  the private sector, with 125 K sq. ft area with all the amenities to make the sub-systems  required for RF Seekers and IIR Seekers and to carry out the assembly, integration and  testing of Seekers under one roof.
