Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and President of Indian Red Cross Society, AP State Branch, formally handed over 100 Oxygen Concentrators and 48,000 Covid testing vials received from Singapore Red Cross Society to Dr. A. Sridhar Reddy, Chairman and Sri A.K. Parida, General Secretary of AP State Branch of Indian Red Cross Society at a programme held at Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan on Thursday. The Singapore Red Cross Society had donated medical equipment worth Rs.4.5 crore to the IRCS AP State Branch to provide help to Covid-19 patients in the State.
Dr. A. Sridhar Reddy, Chairman of AP State Branch of IRCS has briefed Governor Harichandan about the assistance received by them in the shape of medical equipment from several NRI organizations including 300 oxygen concentrators from American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPIO), 85 oxygen Concentrators and 1400 pulse oxi meters from North American Telugu Association (NATA), 20,000 medicine kits and 100 oxygen Concentrators from Telugu Association of North America (TANA), 5,000 medicine kits from Telugu Association of Malaysia, VOIP Office Communications provided free helpline to Red Cross to counsel Covid-19 patients in home isolation.
Governor thanked the Singapore Red Cross Society and various NRI associations and volunteers for coming forward and extending help to the people of the State in the hour of need and hoped that the members of the AP State Branch of Indian Red Cross will continue their efforts to alleviate human suffering in every possible way by joining hands with every person and organization willing to provide help.
