Union Minister and BJP Telangana State president Kishan Reddy has lashed out at the Congress government and alleged that it had failed to fulfill promises made to the people of the State.
Speaking to media persons at the BJP office in Nampally on Friday, he said, “Earlier, the State was looted by the BRS party for 10 years and now the Congress leaders are looting it,” he alleged.
He claimed that the Congress leaders were giving priority to personal vendetta by ignoring the promises made.
He demanded that the promises and guarantees given to farmers, women and the unemployed should be implemented.
It is trying to drown the farmers by making many promises, he alleged.
Kishan Reddy said after coming to power, there had been a change in the Congress leaders, but there had been no change in the lives of the people of Telangana. “Congress government is not a people’s government.
It is a government that cheats the people,” he alleged while claiming that efforts are being made to put many restrictions on the implementation of RythuBharosa scheme.
He said even though the prices of fertilizers have gone up, the Center had never burdened the farmers. He also said the Center was bearing the brunt of the increased burden while terming it as a pro-farmer government. “We are collecting nominal money from farmers for the fertilizers,” he said.
He also said the Center was buying the entire crop produced by the farmers. He said a kg of rice was purchased at Rs 40 per kg and given free of cost to the poor. He also said the Center was spending Rs 33,000 crore on the fertilizer subsidy in Telangana.
He said the Modi government had increased the minimum support price (MSP) by 80 per cent on some crops and added that the Center was cooperating with the State in every possible way.
Kishan Reddy alleged that the State government had failed in procurement of food grains and added that it was a criminal act.
He also alleged the State government was doing injustice to the farmers by entering into agreements with private rice millers and indulging in anti-farmer activities.
Kishan Reddy commented that this government did not have any supervision over the officials.
