Indian shuttler PV Sindhu recorded a consolation win over Chinese He Bing Jiao in the third group ‘A’ match of the BWF World Tour Final in Guangzhou, China today. Sindhu’s title defence lay in tatters after her second successive loss yesterday.
After being down in the opening game, she eventually outwitted Bing Jiao 21-19, 21-19 and finished third in the group. This win also snapped Sindhu’s run of four straight losses to the Chinese, making their head-to-head record 6-9.
