CPI State secretary and MLA Koonamneni Sambasiva Rao today demanded that the Central and State governments stop their plans to produce coal with the help of private companies.
He held a media conference along with the representatives of Singareni Recognised Association AITUC at Rajab Ali Bhavan in Kothagudem Babu camp. Speaking on the occasion, Koonamneni said the Singareni company was paying more attention to private businesses instead of focusing on coal mines. He alleged that illegal activities had increased in Singareni. He also alleged that political interference had increased greatly and added that Singareni should implement the scheme of building own houses for retired company workers.
Koonamneni Sambasiva Rao demanded that the government pay thousands of crores of rupees of dues that it owed to the Singareni company for the protection of the Company and the protection of the right soft he workers.
He said the move to hand over coal in Kothagudem and Yellandu new mines to the private sector was illegal and the BRS government was more inclined towards the privatisation of the company. He said steps should be taken to ensure that Singareni company takes up all the works on its own.
