Winter season likely to continue till March in north India

The winter season is expected to continue till the first week of March due to the forecast of snowfall in the north Indian states. The temperature will drop by two degrees as there are chances of rainfall from tomorrow onwards for few days. In Jammu and Kashmir, fresh snowfall has occurred in the higher reaches and heavy rain in the plains during the last 12 hours.

More snowfall and rain is likely to occur in the state on Friday. In Himachal Pradesh, a fresh spell of snowfall and widespread rain is expected in various parts of the state on 25 & 26 February and on 1st & 2nd March.

Similarly, it is likely to snow heavily in the neighbouring hill state of Uttarakhand over the next 48 hours till Saturday, which would further affect the weather in Uttar Pradesh. The Met office predicted rain, thundershowers and even hailstorm in western Uttar Pradesh today.
