The first editionattracts over 750 participants from 30+ Madurai schools, competing in two categories – junior & senior
Vikaasa World School, a leading educational institution, and a member of Global School Foundation, recently hosted its first annual quiz event, titled VIZKWIZ – Best Brains Battle. The quiz event was a huge success, with over 750 participants from 30+ schools in and around Madurai; competing in two categories – junior and senior.
The VIZKWIZ event was held at Vikaasa World School, which was transformed into a buzzing hub of activity as students from different schools arrived to take part in the competition. The school’s auditorium was filled with excitement and anticipation as the Quiz Master, Mr. Berty Ashley, took to the stage to welcome the participants and kick off the event. The quiz competition was divided into two categories: Junior and Senior. The junior category was for students from class 7 to 9, while the senior category was for students from class 10 to 12. The questions were designed to test the student’s knowledge across a wide range of subjects, including science, history, geography, literature, and current affairs.
The competition was intense, with each team trying their best to answer the questions correctly. The audience cheered as the teams battled it out on stage. There were several nail-biting moments as teams tried to answer tricky questions, and the enthusiasm in the auditorium was palpable.
Mr. N.P.Murali, Principal, Vikaasa World School was also thrilled with the success of the event. He said, “We are delighted to host VIZKWIZ and to have our alumna Mr. Berty Ashley as our quiz master. We are also proud of all the participants who put in a lot of effort to prepare for the competition. We hope to make VIZKWIZ an annual event and continue to provide a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and skills. I thank Mrs. Vinola and the VWS team for their unwavering support.”
The quiz rounds were scheduled based on the categories; the first round of junior’s followed by second round of senior’s prelims. After several rounds of intense quizzing, the final teams were selected. In the junior category, the team from Pushpalatha Vidhya Mandhir, Tirunelveli emerged as the winners, while in the senior category, the team from Vallaba Vidhyalaya took home the trophy.
The winning teams were awarded prizes, trophies, and certificates of meritby the chief guests Dr. M. Saravanan MBBS and Mrs. Kavitha Saravanan MCA, RIO Children’s Hospitals. The runners-up, third-placed teams and the finalists were also given certificates of merit and prizes.

Speaking about the event, Mrs. Vinola Thomas, Head Mistress&Chief organizer of VIZKWIZ 2023, Vikaasa World School, added, “I feel immense joy after witnessing so many students from different schools under one roof. The students showed great enthusiasm and knowledge, and it was heartening to see so many young minds engaged in learning. The event not only challenged participants’ knowledge but also created an unforgettable experience that will be cherished for years to come.
