TSWREIS & CII organizes Vidya & Vikas Session as part of Promoting India@75 concept among the youth

Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions (TSWREIS) in partnership with confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a panel discussion as a part of the CII’s India@75 Youth Summit seminar series, on current issues in Education sector in India, titled “Vidya aur Vikas”. Eminent academicians, Prof. R. Venkata Rao, Former Vice Chancellor, National Law School India University, Bangalore, Prof. A. Ravindranath, Senior Professor, Osmania University, L. Ravi Chander, Senior Counsel, High Court of Telangana and Dr. Joe Christopher, Assistant in Public Affairs, US Consulate General, and Hyderabad acted as panelists.

               D. Ronald Rose, IAS Secretary, TSWREIS congratulated Higher Education Wing, TSWREIS and thanked CII and INNOTAL for collaborating with TSWREIS.

Opening remarks were given by Dr. Praveen Mamidala, Joint Secretary, Higher Education, and TSWREIS. The session was moderated by Dr. Pavani ASN, OSD, Academics, Higher Education, TSWREIS and hosted by Mrs. Gracena, Special Officer, Talent Management, TSWREIS.

            Prof. R. Venkata Rao gave his opinion on the current budget crunch faced by the state universities, privatization of higher education in India and guided the students on how to choose the right educational institution.

       Prof. A. Ravindranath highlighted the importance of having fixed key indicators for accreditation in schools and also the need for the teachers to focus on the assessment systems as per the requirements of the course.

             Ravichander, suggested that there is an urgent need for change in the societal mindset and it’s high time that the citizens act more responsible and stop looking at Government for solutions and aid.

             Dr. Joe Christopher spoke about the various cultural exchange programs offered by the US Embassy and also advised the students to plan meticulously and do thorough research before applying for foreign universities.

The other partners for this event include University of Hyderabad, INNOTAL and Infection Control Academy of India.
