TITA inks pact with University of Texas at Dallas

Continuing its efforts to use technology to solve societal problems, software professionals body Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) has now brought out a new solution that will help farmers connect with agriculture scientists and get their farming related queries answered.
For this, TITA is using the TConsult that it had launched earlier to offer tele-consultations, particularly in the rural areas. The app had so far offered more than 10,000 consultations and has come as an effective tool to circumvent issues relating to distance, time and shortage of medical professionals during the corona times.
TITA has now added agricultural scientists from TS Agricultural University to its offerings through Tconsult to advise the farming community on farming related issues. This development comes at a time when the State is moving in the direction of regulated farming. Agriculture and Marketing Minister S Niranjan Reddy, who launched the revised TConsult app to aid farmers, turned the first user of the app. He got connected with TS Agricultural University former registrar and retired Professor Prof Jalapathi Rao to seek answers to questions related to farming and farmers from the latter. The Minister lauded the effort of
TITA in launching the farmer -support system via video conference.
Speaking on the occasion, TITA founder and global president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said the new service on the TConsult app has been piloted in one mandal and TITA has been interacting with agricultural university scientists to scale up the project further. Among others, it will work to bring experts in farm related aspects from other countries too online for knowledge sharing. TITA has 20 chapters in various countries and all of these will work to bring the respective farmers and scientific community interacts with farmers in Telangana on subjects of common interest.
Makthala said the TConsult  has been on  the forefront to offer tele-consultations to people in rural areas. So far, about 10,000 consultations have been offered through the platform. It has also added  homeo and ayurveda consultations too. TITA decided to extend the scope of TConsult by adding farmer advice services. The platform is robust and more services will be added to it. Farmers can book an appointment on TConsult and get to interact with the scientists and get their farming related queries addresses, Makthala said adding that TITA is also in contact with scientists and experts from Water and Land Management Training and Research Institute (WALAMTARI).
Telangana State Water Resources Development Corporation Chairman V Prakash, TITA Adviser LK Sangameshwar Rao, TITA vice-president Rana Pratap Bojjam and member Srikanth Uppala were also present at the launch.
