Elon Musk’s Tesla company has taken up job placements in India. Notification for many posts has already been released. Tesla, the world’s largest manufacturer of electric vehicles, has always been looking to enter the Indian market.
Tesla could not come to India for a long time due to some tax issues. But, Elon Musk met with Modi, who recently visited America.
After this meeting, Tesla announced job openings in India, and it can be understood that all obstacles to Tesla’s entry into the Indian market have been removed.
Tesla will initially start its operations in Mumbai and Delhi. Tesla has announced 13 positions on its LinkedIn page for customer-facing positions as well as back-end positions.
However, Tesla has not previously entered the Indian market due to high import duties on electric cars in India.
Tesla is all set to enter the Indian market after reducing the primary customs duty on cars priced above 40,000 US dollars from 110 percent to 70 percent.
It is known that India aims to achieve zero de-carbonization by 2070. As a part of that, the duty has been reduced.
With the increasing demand for electric cars in India, all the companies are focusing on the Indian market. The Indian government has reduced import duties on EVs for manufacturers who invest at least Rs 41.5 billion ($500 million) in domestic manufacturing.
