Renowned Telugu director and screenwriter Kodi Ramakrishna is no more. He died due to lung infection in a hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. A couple of days ago, Ramakrishna complained of breathlessness and was rushed to the hospital in Hyderabad. A team of doctors examined him and put him on life supporting system. It looks like the filmmaker didn’t respond to treatment and breathed his last.
Ever since the tragic news broke, condolences have been pouring in on social media. Kodi Ramakrishna was born in Pakakollu in West Godavari district. He made his directorial debut in Tollywood in 1982 with ‘Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya. In his career spanning 30 years, the director has over 100 films to his credit. Apart from being a director, Ramakrishna was also a successful screenwriter and an actor.
He was conferred with Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for his contribution in Telugu films in 2012. His notable works include Mangamma Gari Manavadu, Arundhati, Puttintiki Ra Chelli, Allari Pilla, Bharat Bandh, Muddula Mavayya, Ammoru, Pelli, Devi, Anji, and many more. His last film as a director was kannada film Nagarahavu (2016).
