The Telangana State has been awarded an additional incentive assistance of Rs.176.5 crores by the Centre for successfully reaching significant milestones in the implementation of the “Special Financial Investment Assistance to States 2024-2025 Scheme” established by the Union Road Transport and Highways department.
Telangana has qualified for Rs.125 crores and Rs.51.5 crores under Milestone 1 and Milestone 2, respectively. The State has achieved eligibility for Rs.50 crores concerning the concession on motor vehicle taxes. Under the Milestone 2 category, the Telangana government proposed a plan for the scrapping of transport vehicles that are over 15 years old, attaining eligibility for Rs.75 crores.
In addition to this, Telangana has qualified for Rs.31.5 crores for 21 priority districts and Rs.20 crores for non-priority districts, resulting in a total incentive amount of Rs.50.5 crores.(NSS)
