Telangana has become role model in implementation of welfare schemes to entire country. All States are looking at Telangana with wonder for implementing welfare schemes on such a large scale, said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
The Deputy Chief Minister spoke to media persons at his camp office after laying foundation for development works worth hundreds of crores of rupees in Madhira mandal and Madhira municipality on Sunday.
While previous BRS rulers handed over the State to Congress government with Rs 8 lakh crore debt, the Congress government has been streamlining the financial situation. Despite financial crunch, it did not go back on extending promised welfare schemes to people of State, Bhatti said.
While a rich Telangana State was given to BRS leaders, they only talked about giving fine rice for 10 years, but failed to distribute even one grain, he alleged.
Stating that no where in the country fine rice is being distributed under the PDS to the poor, he said the Congress government is distributing fine rice to 90 lakh families with ration cards and 2.85 crore beneficiaries since Ugadi.
In addition, along with new ration cards to be issued, a total of one crore ration cardholders and 3.10 crore beneficiaries, will get fine rice.
The People’s government will spend Rs 13,525 crore every year on distribution of fine rice to poor. The scheme proved the sincerity and dedication of Congress government towards the poor, Bhatti Vikramarka said.
The last date for applying under Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme was extended upto April 14 following requests from various sections in view of consecutive holidays.
The schedule for scrutiny of applications at mandal and district level was already announced and sanction letters will be issued in all constituency and mandal headquarters from June 2 to 9. The government will stick to the calendar announced, the Deputy Chief Minister said.
“An action plan has been readied for giving training of three days to one week for the selected self employment scheme by the applicants. Action plan was also prepared for grounding of the scheme,” he disclosed.
Bhatti Vikramarka called upon unemployed youth to utilise the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam programme. Wyra MLA Ramdas Naik, Handicrafts Board Chairman Naidu Satyam and others participated in the media conference.
