Seethakka flags off 25 mobile fish vending vehicles

Minister for Panchayat Raj Seethakka flagged off 25 mobile fish vending vehicles at Praja Bhavan here on Friday.

On the occasion, Seethakka himself gave slogans saying, “Women’s power should flourish.” She travelled in a mobile fish vending vehicle and inspected the facilities.

She said the Congress government in Telangana is implementing many programmes for women empowerment and the government’s goal is to make ordinary women millionaires.

“For the first time in the country, Savitri Bhai Phule Jayanti is being officially celebrated in Telangana. Savitri Bhai Phule proved that women were not confined to the home and was praised as a great person who showed the world the greatness of education,” Seethakka said. 

The Minister further stated that the State government is implementing a loan insurance scheme for women’s groups and providing employment to women through 17 types of businesses.

She advised the beneficiaries to take advantage of the fact that vehicles are being provided to them for just Rs.4 lakhs with a subsidy of Rs.6 lakhs for a vehicle worth Rs.10 lakhs.

Fisheries Corporation Chairman Mettu Saikumar, Prajakavi Jayaraju, Karimnagar District Library Chairman Sathu Mallesh, and Jan Vignan Vedika President Ramesh participated in the programme.
