Royal Challengers Bangalore crashed out of the IPL cricket tournament as their encounter against Rajasthan Royals was abandoned due to rain in Bangalore last night. The rain-affected match was reduced to a 5-over a side contest. Bangalore posted 62 runs for seven in their quota of overs. Rajasthan Royals’ leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal took a memorable hat-trick.
Chasing the target, Rajasthan scored 41 for one in 3.2 overs when the rain came back. The match was halted and both teams had to share a point each. It keeps Rajasthan mathematically alive in the tournament as they have 11 points from 13 games with one match to go.
But Bangalore got a point, taking them to nine points from 13 games, ending all their hopes of progressing in the tournament. Today, Chennai Super Kings will play against Delhi Capitals in Chennai at 8 PM.
