New Zealand becomes fourth semi-finalist in ICC World Cup

New Zealand have become the fourth semi-finalist in the ICC Cricket World Cup. They join India, Australia and England who have already booked their semi-final berths. New Zealand edged out Pakistan on the basis of a better Net Run Rate to make it to the semis, despite Pakistan beating Bangladesh by 94 runs at Lord’s last night.

Chasing a victory target of 316 runs, Bangladesh innings folded at 221 in the 42nd over. Earlier, electing to bat first, Pakistan made 315 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Today, two matches will be played. India will play already knocked-out Sri Lanka at Headingley in Leeds.
