KTR slams Congress govt for dismantling Gurukuls

KTR

BRS working president KTR has strongly criticized the Congress government stating that Gurukuls, which flourished during KCR’s tenure, have now collapsed into disarray within a year of Congress rule.

He accused CM Revanth Reddy of deliberately dismantling Gurukuls, which were established with a noble vision to secure the future of underprivileged children.

He alleged that Congress is targeting these institutions out of its narrow-minded intent to erase KCR’s legacy.

Highlighting the stark contrast, KTR pointed out that during the BRS government, 1.68 lakh applications were received for 41,000 seats in SC, ST, BC, and Minority Gurukuls. However, under the Congress government, only 80,000 applications have been submitted for 51,000 seats.

This means over 80,000 parents have lost confidence in the system and are unwilling to apply for their children’s admissions.

KTR lamented that while there was once fierce competition for Gurukul admissions, today, parents are reluctant to send their children there.

He attributed this shift to the tragic deaths of over 50 students due to hunger, snake bites, suicides, and food poisoning in Gurukuls under the Congress regime. “Parents now fear for their children’s lives more than their education,” KTR said, expressing deep concern over the declining trust in Gurukuls due to government’s criminal negligence.

He also slammed the Congress leadership for failing to even console the families of deceased students. Instead, ministers and MLAs ignored the tragic deaths, and the government attempted to suppress BRS leaders, who wanted to visit the grieving families.

KTR recalled that Gurukul students once went on to become doctors and engineers, but now, due to the Congress government’s lack of vision, they face an uncertain future.

He blamed Revanth Reddy’s discriminatory mindset and his deliberate efforts to cripple the Gurukul system, despite holding the Education Ministry himself.

KTR warned that declining trust in Gurukuls reflects the people’s realization that the Congress government’s grand promises were nothing but illusions.

He accused the government of turning a blind eye to the future of lakhs of children and urged an immediate review of the situation to restore Gurukuls to their former glory. Until then, BRS will continue its fight against the Congress government, he asserted.
