KTR, Owaisi lay foundation for elevated corridor in city

The fast developing Hyderabad is to get another big elevated corridor of roads in two years from Nalgonda cross Roads in Malakpet area to Owaisi junction via Government Printing Press, Chanchalguda to Yadagiri Theatre via Chanchalguda Jn, Saidabad Jn., Dhobighat Jn, IS Sadan Jn. the city in two years. 

GHMC is taking up the project under strategic road development project (SRDP) to cost Rs 523.37 crore

Municipal and IF Minister,  K T Rama Rao today laid foundation stone for it at Nalgonda cross roads along with ministers, Mahamood Ali, Srinivas Yadav, Mayor B Rammohan,  Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and commissioner Lokesh Kumar here.  

This corridor is estimated to cost Rs 523.37 crore to ease traffic problems.

On operational this project of roads will connect Nalgonda cross Roads in Malakpet to Saidabad and the Owaisi junction at Owaisi hospital after Santosh Nagar and nearby DRDA. 

According to information the total stretch of the big elevated project is put at 3.382 kms, 4 lane bi-directional carriageway . Out of which  2.580 Kms upper bridge and the rest is side ramps. This project is being built with the use of latest technology.

Lokesh said that on both sides four lane roads are planned to be constructed. 

It will ease of traffic problems, cut short road travel time and paves easy way and diverts traffic towards Champapet and Chandrayangutta the commissioner said. 

According to a survey in 2015, 70576 vehicles move in busy hours and will be around 2 lakhs in 2035.
