Kolkata Knight Riders keep playoff hopes alive with 7-wicket win against Kings XI Punjab

Kolkata Knight Riders beat Kings XI Punjab by seven wickets in IPL cricket at Mohali last night. Chasing a target of 184, Kolkata’s Shubman Gill scoring an attractive 65 not out off 49 balls set the pace with some big hits in the Powerplay overs. Chris Lynn scored 46 off 22 balls.   Kolkata Knight Riders achieved the target in just 18 overs with the loss of 3 wickets.

Earlier, Youngsters Sam Curran and Nicholas Pooran displayed belligerence as Punjab put on a respectable 183 for 6 against Kolkata. Today, third placed Delhi Capitals will aim for a big win against 5th placed Rajasthan Royals in their final IPL league match in New Delhi.

The match will begin at 4 p.m. In the second match, bottom placed Royal Challengers Bangalore will host fourth placed Sunrisers Hyderabad at 8 p.m.
