Minister for Panchayat Raj Seethakka has emphasised the crucial role of District Panchayat Officers (DPOs) in guiding villages towards progress.
During a review meeting held at the Mission Bhagiratha office on Sunday, the Minister assessed various aspects, including the allocation of funds, sanitation management, fresh water supply, ongoing projects, and environmental greenery.
The meeting was attended by Lokesh Kumar, Secretary of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department, along with Director Srijana and the DPO.
In her remarks, Seethakka urged the officials to prioritise the provision of a dignified life for rural residents and to implement special measures that promote a healthy environment in the villages. She directed that plans be developed and executed in accordance with the specific needs of local communities.
The Minister also commended the DPOs for their dedication in serving the rural populace despite the challenges posed by the absence of locally elected representatives, highlighting that it is a privilege to serve in this capacity.
Seethakka advised, ‘Approach your work as a commitment rather than merely a job. When you engage with a sense of humanity, you will yield positive outcomes.’
She emphasised the importance of addressing errors and enhancing the efficiency of his responsibilities. The Minister also conveyed that she possesses a sensitivity that is matched by her adherence to duties.
