Governor ESL Narasimhan accepted to dissolve Telangana assembly. Narasimhan asked K Chandrasekhar Rao to continue as caretaker CM until the next government is formed and the chief minister agreed. Chief Minister KCR earlier met the Governor and presented cabinet’s recommendation to dissolve the assembly.
The Telangana cabinet met for the second time in five days to pass a resolution to dissolve the assembly to pave the way for early elections on Thursday. KCR’s cabinet colleagues are also to continue as caretaker ministers. As per rules, elections are to be held within six months after the dissolution of the Assembly. The decision on whether to hold the early elections now rests with the Election Commission.
