Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Shridhar Babu has called upon the people to reject the distortion of facts surrounding the State’s caste census, warning against attempts to mislead the people for political gain.
In a release here on Wednesday, the Minister emphasised that the survey was conducted with impeccable transparency and scientific integrity, and urged opposition parties to stop politicising an issue that directly affects the welfare of the state’s marginalized communities.
“The caste census was carried out with meticulous precision and transparency, with data collected from every household in the state, “Sridhar Babu declared.
“Yet, certain political factions, motivated by their own agendas, are now spreading baseless allegations to discredit a process that was executed with the highest standards of accuracy. These false claims must be dismissed outright.”
Sridhar Babu further drew attention to the stark contrast between the current administration’s approach and that of the previous BRS government, which, according to him, conducted its family survey in a shoddy and unscientific manner.
“The BRS government’s survey was a farce. It lacked both credibility and transparency. Despite this, they never presented their flawed report to the public or the Assembly. Now, after nine years, they are raising objections. The people have a right to know the truth: we have rectified their failures. The record has been set straight,” Sridhar Babu said.
Taking aim at the opposition’s newfound rhetoric on Backward Classes (BCs), he pointed out the long-standing commitment of the Congress party to BC welfare. “Only the Congress has consistently fought for the rights of BCs. The BC Declaration, crafted under the visionary leadership of Rahul Gandhi, will be fully implemented without compromise. Can the BJP or BRS make such a pledge?” he challenged.
Ahead of the upcoming local body elections, he reaffirmed Congress’ commitment to reserving 42 percent of seats for BCs, stressing that this was not a political talking point, but a binding promise. “We are committed to our word. The Congress party will ensure 42 percent reservation for BCs in the local bodies. This is not just a promise, it’s a guarantee,” he asserted.
Sridhar Babu also pointed out the stark contrast in achievement between the current Congress government and the BRS.
“In just one year, we’ve delivered on what the BRS failed to accomplish in two terms. Yet, instead of acknowledging our progress, BRS leaders are spreading lies and trying to undermine our work. And now the BJP has joined the chorus of misinformation. Let the public see through this political charade,” he urged.
The Minister said the people of Telangana should remain alert and they should not fall victim to these orchestrated attempts to spread confusion.
“The facts are clear, and we stand by the people. We will continue to deliver on our promises for the welfare of the BCs and the people of the state, without allowing anyone to derail us with their false narratives,” he added.
