International Youth Day 2024

-By Ms. Sanamdeep Chadha, Director & Promoter, Genesis Global School.

“International Youth Day observed on 12th August every year recognizes the immense potential of young people to drive change and make a meaningful impact on the world.

However, educational institutions are responsible for empowering and educating our youth so they can create a bigger impact in whatever they pursue.

As youngsters increasingly align with digital technology, they must understand that technology has far wider implications than entertainment or learning.

It is a powerful tool that can amplify their voices on a global platform, connect them with like-minded individuals, and drive significant change.

One of the most pressing issues today is the environmental crisis, exacerbated by human activities. Our youth must be aware that we are on a ticking time bomb, and their actions will determine the future of our planet.

Integrating the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the curriculum is essential for building this awareness and equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to address these challenges.

At Genesis Global School, we are committed to setting the right training ground for young minds by embedding SDGs into our educational framework.

Understanding the SDGs helps students recognize the interconnectedness of social, economic, and environmental issues, fostering a holistic approach to problem-solving.

This involves creating a green campus and ensuring that students develop an empathetic mindset for global concerns towards the environment at large, by coming together in the format of environmental clubs which allow them to put their thoughts into action.

By cultivating a consciousness toward the environment, students develop a deep connection and respect for nature.

This bond ensures that they leverage technology to promote sustainable development and find innovative ways to achieve these goals.

Including SDGs in the curriculum is not just necessary; it is imperative for shaping future leaders who are equipped to build a sustainable and equitable world.”
