The fifth and final ODI will be played between India and New Zealand at the Westpac Stadium, Wellington today. The match will begin at 7.30 a.m. (Indian Standard Time). India’s Assistant Coach Sanjay Bangar today said that former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has regained full fitness and will play the match.
India’s most experienced ODI player was out of the last two games with a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, a lower back injury to experienced New Zealand opener Martin Guptill has made him a doubtful starter for today’s match. The 32-year-old opener aggravated his lower back while throwing a ball during the fielding practice today.
Colin Munro, who was left out of the fourth ODI after his scores of 8, 31 and 7 in the first three matches, is set to return to the squad. Although the visitors have sealed the series 3-1, they will look to bounce back after the eight-wicket defeat in the fourth ODI where they were bundled out for a paltry 92.
