Virat Kohli’s 22nd fifty in T20Is helped India beat South Africa by seven wickets in Mohali. Excellent death bowling by the Indian bowlers restricted South Africa to a below par score of 149/5 in the second Twenty20 International in Mohali. Quinton de Kock top-scored withn 52 runs while debutant Temba Bevuma fell one short of his fifty. Deepak Chahar was the most successful Indian bowler as he picked up two wickets.
South Africa gained the momentum towards the end as Navdeep Saini gave away 16 runs in the last over of the innings. Earlier, India skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl. Earlier, invited to bat, South Africa scored 149 for 5 in the stipulated 20 overs. Indian bowlers used their variations in the death overs and contained the South African batsmen.
Rishabh Pant has replaced M.S.Dhoni as wicketkeeper in the squad. The first game was washed out without a ball being bowled at Dharamsala last Sunday. The third and last match of the T-20 series will be played at Bengaluru on Sunday.
