Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav and Home Minsiter Mahamood Ali today extended thanks to the people of the twin cities for peaceful conduct of the Ganesh festival. The ministers instructed the GHMC officials to complete the cleansing of waste from the Hussain Sagar lake after immersion. Srinivas Yadav With officials of various departments coordinating during the festival we are able to successfully conduct the Ganesh festival in a peaceful manner, he stated. He appreciated the police force, GHMC, HMDA, power, water and other wings that were involved in the program of Ganesh festivities. As directed by the Supreme Court we could complete the Ganesh festival in a successful manner. No untoward incident took place during the event and thanks to the people. A large number of devotees and people gathered at the tank bund to see off the Ganesh in the lake. Now the GHMC staff is involved in the removal of debris and waste from the lake, he said. He asked the GHMC sanitation staff to take up cleansing works on the roads that were filled with wastage of food material used during the festivities on the last day.
The nine day long Ganesh festival ended on a peaceful note with a large number of idols immersed in Hussain Sagar and other lakes, he said.
He stated that the government made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of idol immersion on Sept 19 as part of nine day Ganesh festival by following corona protocols. This time the Supreme Court gave green signal to the Plaster of Paris Ganesh idol immersion in Tank Bund, he said. The Government took steps to provide complete protection with more police personnel.
Thousands of police were involved in the security and bandhobust on the occasion as the festival ended on a peaceful note.
Srinivas Yadav said that the people attended the culmination in a festive mood with 55 cranes and 27000 police personnel on the job.
The idols came as planned by the officials and immersion took place from Tank bund side, PV Marg, and nearby areas in the lake, he said.
