A Sukhoi fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed near Tezpur in Assam last evening. The Su-30 aircraft was on a routine training mission when it crashed in the local flying area in Sonitpur district. Both pilots ejected safely from the aircraft and have been rescued. Local people rushed the two pilots to the Army Base Hospital in Tezpur. Fire tenders rushed to the spot to bring the flames under control, the fire department said. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
