Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed that he has established his distinct identity through the “Young India” initiative in Telangana.
During the inauguration of the Young India Police School in Manchirevula, Narsingi, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, on Thursday, the Chief Minister shared that the state government drew inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi to create the Young India brand in Telangana.
“Each Chief Minister has created their own brand image. Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao endeared himself to the poor by introducing the Rs 2 per kg rice scheme. Similarly, Chandrababu Naidu built a reputation by fostering IT development in Hyderabad. People remember YS Rajashekhar Reddy as a champion for farmers. Now, I have carved out my own identity through the ‘Young India’ brand in Telangana,” stated Revanth Reddy.
He emphasised the significance of the Young India Police School for all police personnel in Telangana, noting that the establishment of such a school was part of the election manifesto.
Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru initiated the groundwork for numerous universities across the nation, and his vision played a crucial role in enabling the country to compete on a global scale.
Revanth Reddy noted that only a select few Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers are remembered in the nation, as their impactful decisions have left a lasting legacy.
“The future of our nation is rooted in education. Therefore, we have prioritized education and employment, seeing them as essential to developing our own identity.
The state government has launched the Young India Skills University to provide vocational training for the unemployed, appointing renowned industrialist Anand Mahindra as its Chairperson,” he stated.
The Chief Minister said that students, who join the university, would get job security and efforts were being made to promote the Young India Skills University as the best university in the country.
“In addition to this, efforts are also on to establish Young India Sports University and Academy aiming to win medals in the next Olympic games,” Revanth Reddy said.
The Chief Minister further stated that a corpus fund of Rs.100 crore is being created for police school and the government is ready to give necessary permissions for the purpose.
“The police school will be developed to compete with Sainik school. The government is ready to provide substantial funds for this. It is the responsibility of all of us to develop the police school as a role model.
I appeal to the private companies to provide financial assistance to the police school as a social responsibility,” Revanth Reddy added.
