Hyderabad to become ‘Silicon Valley of Asia’: Uttam Kumar

TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today released letter written by party president Sonia Gandhi to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of corona virus.

Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday reaffirmed the Congress Government’s strong commitment to the real estate sector, assuring full support to builders at the first Annual General Meeting of the Cyberabad Builders Association (CBA) held at HICC Novotel.

Addressing a packed hall of builders, developers, and stakeholders, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the the reports of a slowdown in construction activity were blown out of proportion and the Congress government would ensure a real estate boom in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

“We are meeting at a crucial time. Many of you are anxious about the future. Let me assure you categorically that the present Congress government in Telangana is completely committed to supporting building and construction activity not only in Hyderabad and Cyberabad but across the entire state,” he said.

The Minister promised that the government would proactively intervene to resolve any issues faced by builders – be it with government agencies or any other authorities – to ensure smooth operations and exponential business growth. “We want every builder to benefit from the growth of Hyderabad and particularly the Cyberabad region,” he added.

Reiterating that Hyderabad enjoys a moderate climate, cosmopolitan culture and a business-friendly environment, Uttam Kumar Reddy assured the builders that the Congress Government would continue to protect this ecosystem. “Whether it is about law and order, social harmony, or policy support – we stand with you in making Hyderabad and Cyberabad grow even faster,” he said.

The Minister also spoke of new initiatives to strengthen Hyderabad’s water infrastructure, noting that the government is working continuously to bring additional drinking water from the Krishna and Godavari rivers to meet the city’s growing needs.

“Even in a difficult year, Hyderabad and Cyberabad will not face water shortage,” he said.

On traffic congestion, he said the government is taking up rapid expansion of the Metro Rail network to improve urban mobility.

He referred to the presence of global technology giants like Amazon and Google in Hyderabad and said, “Cyberabad will develop as the Silicon Valley of Asia – there is no doubt in my mind.”

Uttam Kumar Reddy said the interest of global investors in Hyderabad’s real estate and construction sector was growing, and the Congress Government was creating the right ecosystem to attract these investments.
