Day time restrictions have been eased in 81 police stations in the Kashmir Valley. Officials said restrictions would be eased in ten more police stations by tomorrow. The officials said landlines are being restored in the areas where restrictions have been lifted and 15 more exchanges are being operationalized in Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam and Kupwara districts.
The J&K administration announced re-opening of high schools today in those areas only where restrictions under Sec 144 have been removed across Valley. The primary & middle level schools were also re-opened in these areas over a week ago. Officials said while there is sizeable daily attendance of teaching and other staff at these educational institutions, however, the student attendance in primary and middle schools continue to remain thin.
They said the attendance will pick up gradually and details shall be available later. Parents in general are apprehensive about the security of children owing to continued disruption in normal life on 24th consecutive day since 5th of August following abrogation of Article 370 & 35 A and bifurcation of J&K State into two Union Territories.
