Former minister and BRS party leader Harish Rao today strongly condemned the arrest of female senior journalist of the State Revathi.
He questioned whether this was a democratic State or a dictatorial State? He criticized that the Revanth Reddy government was responding to those who are protesting on issues with arrests.
Seeing the illegal arrest of senior journalist Revathi at around 5 am, Harish Rao criticized that it shows how insecure and cowardly this government was?
He said he was strongly condemning the shameful attempt to suppress the questioning voices and press freedom.
On Wednesday at 5 am, 12 policemen in mufti went to Revathi’s house and arrested her.
The police also forcibly took away journalist Revathi’s phone, her husband director Chaitanya Dantuluri’s phone and laptop. Revathi’s Pulse YouTube office was also seized.
Revathi was arrested on various charges for broadcasting a video in which a farmer said he did not get Rythu Bandhu benefit.
