Hyderabad: The Glendale Academy International students have been giving thumbs up for the conservation of the environment and marked Van Mahotsav by organising various activities like poster making, food carving, flower decoration and photography competition with the theme ‘Nature at its Best’ on Saturday.
The focus of these celebrations is towards forming a personal connection between the students and spreading awareness on environmental conservation. Yukta Ganotra, a student said, “Such programmes help a great deal in not just knowing about various aspects of the environment but also open up possibilities on doing something for the environment.”
Last year several trees in the campus were uprooted and branches fell off during the monsoon but the management took several measures to re-green the campus.
The event helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us. It also helped in strengthening the bond between plants and human. Students got to learn a lot and will always cherish the memories of this important occasion, said Rhea Pradeep.
